I was planning to buy lowering springs and a new rear end exhaust for my crz but am worried it will void my extended 7 year warranty, any advice?

They can't void your warranty unless the modifications are the cause of the damage. I recently drove to the dealership to get the recall done, and my car is modified with suspension, engine mods and they didn't threaten to void my warranty. They complimented my car though.

This is an often discussed topic on many threads. Please do a forum search on the word Warranty and then when you pick a thread that the search identified - search the individual thread with the word Warranty.

The answer is yes and no. Honda can claim that your modification was the reason for the defect or helped to cause the problem - they can void any "associated" warranty work.

An example - say you put lowering springs on and your rear shock(s) failed, a service department could (an most likely would) state that your aftermarket springs caused the issue and deny warranty replacement shock(s). Unless you got a hookup/friend at the dealership/service department, your most likely going to pay for the shock replacement (parts + labor)

As code alluded to - if you have a non related issue (example - Electrical) it will not affect your warranty.

One has to go in eyes wide open choose your modifications carefully if you are under warranty - and before you spend the money on any extended warranty - think about your modification wish list and time line and if you can aford to pay for that replacement shock in the example I provided.

There is the Magnuson-Moss Act, but, in the lowering spring example above, probably would not be of any assistance. At the same time - it is good to know that the law exists.

Edit: Not merging this with the other "Warranty" thread since it seems to have gone off topic pretty quick and most other discussions on this issue are imbedded into other topics.
