You might want to look into Pioneers AppRadio, which is a double DIN module that is powered by the Iphone 4. I have had it in my car for about a month and it is great.

So the AppRadio is good? I had ordered it from Crutchfield about 2 months ago for $399, I think. Before they shipped it, I canceled the order. I read some very disappointing reviews and changed my mind. I have the AVIC110bt and updated it to the 120 with Pandora and a better interface. I have AhaRadio on it which has the INRix app for traffic and reads Fb updates, too.
I thought the idea for the AppRadio was perfect: everything iPhone and none of the stuff you don't need. Good to hear some people are enjoying it Btw Debello, where do you stow your iPhone? I ended up buying a McNally mount for it in the cup holder

I was also looking into the appradio, but found that it lacked one critical option for me: Bluetooth audio streaming. It does have Bluetooth handsfree, but the only way to stream music from your iPhone is by connecting it to the iPhone cable. I'm not even sure the app radio has aux or a USB port.
So, I decided to go with the AVIC x930bt. It is similar to the z130bt model that came out this year, but with a smaller screen and a few additional buttons. It also offers AHA radio and Pandora through the iPhone cable, but also offers Bluetooth streaming when I don't want to connect it to the cable which I store in the glovebox. The AVIC series are just more feature filled than the appradio. You also have access to a usb port, aux in, and microsd you can also stream netflix and play dvd or divx files on the unit. Of course, with the app radio you get complete integration with the iPhone and several apps. You also get a capacitive touchscreen, but it is heavy on glare. The AVIC line has an antiglare coating, but is a resistive touchscreen, though it is plenty responsive. Here is how my unit looks. ![]() --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=33.215970,-117.097625 |
