Default Mugen-less.

Am I the only one that just isnt attracted to Mugen anymore? I understand what Mugen used to bring to the table and the culture behind it. I remember when I got my first Mugen parts and how excited I was. Now I look back and its like "did I really spend and arm and a leg for this"?

I guess my feeling towards Mugen changed when Honda priced that Mugen Si for $30k. All for what: wheels, a wing and a body kit? cuz none of the "performance parts" increased its power...

IDK, maybe im sadly just getting old. Some input would be appreciated. Thanks

This is true, and not only for Mugen. At least for the CR-Z we are seeing stupid prices for stuff that does little to nothing for performance. Noblesse being one of them.

Maybe I'm getting old as well

I agree also. I'm at a point where I no longer care about slot of the small unnecessary stuff, I just like it clean and get things that I'll actually use to improve the overall experience of my communting.

Not to insult anyone who buys these overpriced parts bc gorgeous they are, and they look great, but in all reality driving around in a fully mugened or noblessed out cr-z probably isnt the best idea, god forbid u get hit from the front with a noblesse front bumper now your **** out of luck for months until your next one comes in and your riding stock again.

i agree with all of the above. I'll keep with my stock parts for now. Maybe in the next coming years honda will come out with a better front lip, or mugen parts will drop in price.

Maybe it's just me, but for stock, I think the front bumper is gorgeous compared to most cars. Other cars always feel like it's missing something, something that a kit usually would provide. But I'm very happy with it as is. I think the rear diffuser definitely needs to be painted black, but other than that, it's a sexy looking car stock. Slap in a sports filter and some cheap exhaust parts and the car is a blast to drive and an attention getter, more so than cars I've had in the past which were much faster.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Some of the members have gotten touchy when pointing out the fact that the Mugen kit, is just fast and furious cosmetic make-up. It's a $5,000 body kit, with horrendous wheels. It's like Maybelline, sure it helps the woman look good, but true beauty is far more attractive.

I used to have an Integra Type R, I had the Mugen baffled oil pan, Mugen 5-way adjustable suspension, Mugen seat rails (for racing bucket), their engine mounts and most of the suspension bushings. I tracked that car at racetracks all over the country for years. Mugen used to be associated with racing and performance parts, motor-sports.

But for the past several years their focus has been body kits. Really expensive body kits. And the CR-Z's is just a lip-kit. It's adding weight, to a hybrid, for appearance-related cosmetic changes only.

It's kind of funny the people who think it'll drastically increase the resale value of their CR-Zs. This isn't a factory numbered, different-from-the-rest, chassis-incorporated-reinforcement Type R. It's a normal CR-Z, with a non-factory body kit that was installed by the highly competent dealership service department employees. It's the same as all the others, with some extra urethane (or fiberglass, yuck and cheap).
