Default Turbo Talk

Can anyone tell me some of the negatives of installing a turbo such as the bisi kit? I'm thinking seriously about doing it, but don't want to cause too much extra trouble/work for myself. The car is my daily driver.
So, what is likely to go wrong, and is there extra maintenance involved?

Thanks

170 whp isn't going to cause any problems. I wouldn't be worried about your DD going boom with the Bisi turbo. Really shouldn't be any extra maintenance, either. Only downside I can think of is the obscene price.

Here are the only downsides of going turbo I could think of...

1). Oil life decreases while capacity will increase slightly

2). May lose some gas mileage depending on how you drive

3). May shorten your tire life depending on how you drive

4). Based on your mechanical skill level, there are a bunch of things you can mess up when installing a turbo kit, so be aware of this and if something does go wrong due to the install your kinda screwed since its your fault.

edit: forgot one, I always run the highest octane gasoline available when boosted for the safety of the engine, which will cost you a bit more.

As long as you pay attention and take your time you should be fine

all of this is correct. also, not sure how 0w20 oil works with it. plus, you'll want better tires, maybe wider rims too.

Thanks guys.. Everything sounds great! other than the cost, which is just a decision I need to make. Toys vs vacation vs investing...

Boost is so fun that I feel like you would quickly forget about the cost once you hear/feel that baby start spoolin'
