Default Reasonable goal?

I'd like to put my horsepower (engine+IMA) around 180 and torque in the 170's if I could while staying n/a and possibly adding a turbo later? Any ideas to give me the push? Still bone stock for now, haven't got my heart quite set on any parts. Was looking into and Injen air intake and N1 Spoon exhaust for starters.

^ Probably not without some major dollars. Most of the mods are 5 or 10HP/Torque here and there..

But go to this area, search around, may find some answers or ideas...

Not going to happen without effecting your daily reliability and bank account. I think 140 is a reasonable goal.

It can be done easily. How much money do you have?

Originally this was my goal to start out with. I also wanted 180 N/A. To answer your question, you will get close. More like 160. You will need the bisimoto ecu and upgraded cams and do some timing changes. Probably an easier way to get to 180 is to change the compression to a higher number. 11 or 12, I wouldnt recommend FI if you went that route.

I plan on just sitting back on my chair and watching what everyone else does to their vehicle that way I can make the most of my money.

Honda engines can easily crank out 100hp/liter... not saying the 1.5LEA in the CR-Z was designed to do that but i'm sure if you get it to the 100hp/liter mark then you'd be at 150hp on the gas engine ALONE... the IMA is running much lower than it could be running... with just a battery upgrade and a few misc parts, the HPD CR-Z was boosted to 25hp/76tq... that would put the CR-Z around 175hp/185tq (rough guesses)... so if u overbuild it, i believe the goals u have are more than achievable!!

*EDIT* my tq # might be off for the HPD upgrade... i'm going off of memory but i'm certain it was in raised from the 56tq it is now, to something in the 70's and is STILL not at it's limit...

Man... that sounds great!^
Imagine the bragging rights of an upgraded battery that give 25hp/76tq at a meet- NO ONE ELSE would be able to say that! Definitely make you stand out!
