Plan to do a wheelskins install tomorrow. Then looking to do a Backup Camera. Pity Honda screwed up that as an option. Harry |

Mostly because this thread, I got the Honda OEM lockable cap for the 2007-2008 Honda Fit Sport (strange only a single model year) for my CR-Z; another thread in this forum mentioned the OEM Fit cap used on the CR-Z with no emissions light problems. I've used the cap for over 24 hours now with one fill-up with no problem. The Fit cap's thread pitch appears identical, but the end might be different, since I was unable to hitch the cap inside the filler cover lid as I'd done with the original gas cap. I intended to buy the Stant lockable gas cap at Amazon, but it's database indicated no applicable Stant cap for the CR-Z, although the Stant web-site showed their model 10507 cap for the CR-Z, and the Amazon product reviews were a mixed bag, so I bought the OEM Fit cap at my local dealer for $40 before sales tax. It's doesn't feel $40. I feel much better now, where my past worry was vandalism on the fuel rather than theft.

Lockable gas cap would supply a very small measure of security, really.
If the car is locked, the gas door cannot be simply clicked open. You would have to pry it open with a screwdriver (or something similar). Now, that isn't real difficult to do, but that same screwdriver would also be sufficient to pry off a locked gas cap as well. If someone is stealing your gas, I don't think they'd be too concerned about damaging the car.
