Default hytech muffler

im new to the tuning scene and have a question for all you out there. when i ordered the muffler i had him drop down the inlet to 2.25 in because i thought full 2.5 in was too big for our engine. my question is when i install it i wanted the same pipe diameter from the down pipe back, should i get a 2.5 in down pipe and 2.5 in b pipe and have the muffler inlet back to 2.5in or leave it 2.25 and get full 2.25 in back? im looking for the most power and my future mods include a supercharger or turbo for around 200 whp but nothing crazy.

If you are going to add forced induction, stick with the 2 1/2

EDIT: Although, 2 1/4 will be more than plenty as well.

Why? Seriously?

Most K20 guys wont go bigger than 2 1/4 as you lose way too much lower end to make anything up in the top end. 2 1/2 all motor is really big for this car. Unless im missing something here....

^ wrong.

Full Race 3" Catback - 8thCivic

I had a 2.5" on my R18 and i felt no loss whatsoever. Also Skunk 2 makes their exhausts in 60mm and 70mm. Those are both over 2.25"

Funny...

I dynoed 3 different exhaust setups on my 8thcivic. The greatest compromise for best low end and top end was 2 1/4

Any smaller and lost too much top end and any bigger lost too much bottom end but gained a little top end. Daily driving a car i wasnt about to lose 20 down low all day to enjoy 10 extra up top once in a while. I was a beta tester for cobb's accessport when it launched so i had over 300 passes on the dyno to experiment all the different setups i wanted. I know what did and dint make power...

Back on topic, how many Fit owners run 3 inch or 2 1/2? Not many...

This 1.5l motor would benefit more from 2 1/4, more than likely, over something much bigger (If the goal is all motor)
