Also, the same parts in the same engine should produce the same output. Temperature would be the only variable that would affect it. If you are considering in getting the kit and you have the means to get it without getting in major debt. I say just buy it with the tune, drive it and have fun =) don't worry about what you plan to do because when you drive it I would be willing to bet you will be satisfied. That is until an upgrade is available =)

I have seen dyno sheets making 130hp and factory is 100hp = 30% increase. Not a single car has the first cat delete(header) with a supercharger.
I just want to make sure I'm getting the most out of the car bc I will be tracking it next year.

Just nut up and buy the Jackson tuner kit! I wished I did. The Jackson tune is MAF based and should work better than a MAP based tune with any combination of bolt-ons that you can think of. You'll probably be fine until you go with more aggressive cams and have work done on the cylinder head. Anything short of that isn't really going to matter much as far as tuning goes. Even though the Jackson tune is locked, you are not locked into only that tune and you can easily have it tuned again (from scratch though) once you get to the next level of your build.
The tuner kit is also cost effective; you get a $700 flashpro, $200 worth of injectors and a completely developed tune all for another $1000 over the TY kit. I spent more doing everything separate...

Our experience with supercharger systems is this: As long as the aftermarket exhaust system is not more restrictive than stock the tune will work fine without modification. And yes, you can buy exhaust systems that deliver more noise and less power than stock. We have seen it many times. By way of edification: - There is easily a 25% variation in taking the same car from one type of dyno to another. - You are assuming that the rated Honda power figures are correct. Our dyno testing shows that a new stock CR-Z makes only 2 HP less than our stock 100,000 mile R18 Civic which is rated by Honda at 138 HP. Last edited by Hondata; 10-26-2012 at 01:18 PM. |
